Spring Fever

4/30/2016

As we approach the nice weather and we have more things to do outside, it is easy to start missing church. Well, I am here to tell you that Spring is just as busy and exciting as the rest of the year. God is still speaking and he wants you to know that He loves it when we can gather together in Worship on Sunday morning. It is our family time and He loves it when we are all present. Going to church or gathering with other Christians is not a burden but rather a blessing. It is like having a family reunion every Sunday. We get together to hear what God has to say to us each week and then we take the message and live it out in our daily lives. Each one of us will live it out a little bit differently and that is what makes us unique. God will be working in and through us this week and calling people into a relationship because of what He is doing in our lives. Isn’t this stuff amazing: we have a God that is all-powerful, all-knowing and all- loving, and He not only knows us by name, He knows us better than we know ourselves. He is active in our life everyday and He shows it to us everyday in the people and situations that He has placed in our lives. That’s right, God is in the events of our daily lives and He wants us to grow in love for Him and one another. The Gospel reading for last Sunday told us about when Judas had left the room and Jesus bestowed on his disciples the golden ticket of faith: ’I give you a new commandment; Love each other, just as I have loved you, so must you love each other. This is how everyone will know that you are my disciples, when you love each other.”  John 13:34-35.

In each and every season of the year, may all of us learn from the Master and love each other in such a way that they know we are Christians.

May The Lord Bless and Keep You,
Rev. Stephen W. Barch
